Ms. Nikhila is looking forward in taking up the Research Associate role for a joint project between the National University of Singapore (NUS) and CNRS France along with other organizations in Singapore and France. For the project, WP1- Descartes: Intelligent Modeling for Decision-making in Critical Urban Systems, she will be working to enhance language model-based code creation in order to improve automatically generated code.
Even though her primary duties center on planning and conducting research, Ms.Nikhila would be managing and interpreting the data, publishing research; hopes to have a steep learning curve and she says, “I will hopefully get an opportunity to work with a more geographically diverse and vibrant team. It will undoubtedly be beneficial for me to acquire more research experience and to broaden my network of contacts in my area of research.”
By sheer hard work and perseverance, Ms. Nikhila has earned this role, however, she never forgets the handholding of faculty members at IIIT Bangalore while doing research as a part of her PhD. “My PhD work involved program analysis and Applied machine learning under the guidance of Prof Sujit Kumar Chakrabarti and Prof Manish Gupta. During my MTech I got the opportunity to do my Master’s thesis (internship) in the field of formal verification under the supervision of Prof. Meenakshi D’Souza. My supervisors provided me with excellent training and a wealth of relevant research experience,” she adds.
