It’s often assumed that all western universities are by-default superior and that Indian education system is by default is steeped in corruption. While it’s can’t be completely devoid of truth, it also is a debilitating bias. It’s more rampant than you might think. This assumption leads to selective observations leading to further confirmation bias – a classic example vicious cycle. This leads to many issues: harder reviews of scholarly work and unwillingness of scholars of Indian origin educated in other countries to seek jobs in India.
