EHRC selected for IBM Global University Program
The EHRC of IIIT Bangalore was selected for the IBM Global University Program Academic Award for a project on “Conversational AI for mental health”. The Co-PIs are Prof. Madhav Rao, Mr. Divya Raj, Principal Technology Strategist, E-Health Research Centre (EHRC), Dr. Seema, Dr. Vikas (both from NIMHANS), and Mr. Manjit Sodhi (from IBM).

IIIT Bangalore students selected in DNS Research Competition
Nidhish Bhimrajka (IMT2019059) and Daksh Agarwal (IMT2019505) were selected among the top 4 teams from India to pursue a 6-month research internship in the Domain Name System (DNS). The DNS Research Competition (https://haryana.coe-iot.com/dns/) was conducted by ICANN and NASSCOM Centre of Excellence IoT & AI.

Mr. Ananda Verma, IIIT Bangalore Alum and Co-Founder of Fasal raised USD 4 million
Fasal, a Bangalore based Agritech Intelligence Startup, founded in 2018 by Mr. Ananda Verma (along with Mr. Shailendra Tiwari) raised USD 4 million from investors. The fund was raised to spread their business across India and South East Asia, strengthen full-stack services and to hire staff for sales and marketing, agronomy, and technology teams.

IIIT Bangalore was awarded ‘Outstanding Partner Award-2021’ for developing ‘Bengaluru for Humanity’ app

During the peak of COVID-19 pandemic, people were swamped with misinformation about COVID-19 medical care. It was a compelling situation to come up with a platform for authentic and reliable information. Realizing the need for accurate and updated information on COVID-19 medical care, IIIT Bangalore developed ‘Bengaluru for Humanity’ application in partnership with Young Indians (Yi) COVID Task Force, an integral part of CII. Mr. Manoj HP, Design Consultant at IIIT Bangalore, developed the app that provided verified COVID-19 medical information and uploaded in less than 48 hours! It was up with accurate and updated information which helped people to great extent in availing emergency services.

On behalf of IIIT Bangalore, Mr. Manoj received ‘Outstanding Partner Award-2021’ at CII-Yi Bengaluru Chapter Annual day 2021 on December 18. The event was chaired by Mr. Kris Gopalakrishnan, Chairman of Governing Body at IIIT Bangalore.
