The need for blood is constant and it is an essential element of human life with no substitute. An adequate amount of blood is needed in all health care facilities to meet the urgent need for patients facing trauma and other lifesaving procedures, such as blood transfusions – which save millions of lives each year.
Blood donation is lifesaving care that starts with one person making a generous giving. IIIT Bangalore subscribes to the view that “The blood is red gold in the time of saving a life.”
Aikyam, the social volunteering club of IIIT Bangalore in collaboration with Bangalore Medical Services Trust (BMST) created a platform for this noble cause on April 26 by organising the ‘Annual Blood Donation Drive’. The initiative was a big success as a total of 133 donors donated blood.
