The spread of love and peace among humankind is the supreme message of Christmas. IIIT Bangalore ushered in Christmas on December 22 with a lot of fun and frolic. To keep up the spirit of Christmas, students, faculty and staff members were given a dress code to wear (red and white generally considered Christmas colours). Celebrations began with the students decorating the Christmas tree beautifully with different ornaments, tinsel, snow and twinkling lights and hung up the balloons. The celebrations doesn’t complete without Santa Claus. The students were further thrilled when Ms. Saroja, the housekeeping staff dressed as Santa Claus arrived at the celebrating spot who distributed chocolates for everyone. Everyone welcomed Santa with melodious carols,
Fun-filled games were also part of the celebrations. Yummy and delicious snacks added flavours to the celebration -plum cake, pav bhaji and goli bajji were savoured by everyone. Even though the celebrations ended on the day, the hearts of all students and children were filled with joy and happiness.
