This month has always been a month of transition on campus, a quieter, reflective period as students prepare to leave for their summer break and faculty and staff turn their attention toward welcoming a new batch through the admissions season. The usual rhythm of academic life slows down, creating space to pause and appreciate the people and moments that often go unnoticed.
This month, our campus witnessed a beautiful reminder of humanity and gratitude. On May 1, International Workers’ Day, students came together to acknowledge and celebrate the invaluable contributions of the ground staff and support teams who work tirelessly behind the scenes to keep the IIIT-Bangalore campus clean, safe, and livable. From maintaining our surroundings to preparing meals that nourish the community each day, their dedication forms the foundation of campus life. In a heartfelt gesture of appreciation, students stepped forward to serve food to the staff members, a simple yet meaningful act that reflected respect, empathy, and the spirit of togetherness that defines our institution.
May was also a month of celebrating student achievements and aspirations. Among the many proud moments, three of our students were selected for the prestigious Women in Semiconductors and Hardware (WISH) program by Texas Instruments. Their accomplishment not only highlights individual excellence but also reinforces IIIT-Bangalore’s growing presence in advanced technology and innovation-driven spaces.
As one academic cycle draws to a close and preparations begin for another, May reminds us that a campus is shaped not only by academic milestones but also by shared gratitude, collective effort, and the quiet acts of humanity that bring a community together.
