Since April 10, 2020, IIIT Bangalore in liaison with Electronics City Industrial Township Authority – ELCITA served food (lunch) to guest workers residing in Electronic City who are out of job during the lockdown days. ELCITA had to cater for about 3000 guest workers, including their families. IIITB delivered 1250 food packets daily to these needy persons. The food was cooked and packed in the campus food court kitchen in a hygienic manner by observing all the safety protocols of social distancing and cleanliness. Our commitment was to provide these 1250 packets till May 03, 2020, which we honoured. This benevolent initiative was completely driven by the IIIT Bangalore Faculty and Staff.
