In a spacious pavilion showcasing the machine intelligence, robotics, cutting-edge communication technologies, virtual reality solutions for businesses, warehouse autonomous sorting, smart irrigation and the whole digital twin vibe was a tech extravaganza for IIIT-Bangalore at the 26th edition of Bengaluru Tech Summit (BTS) 2023 under the theme ‘Breaking Boundaries’ from November 29 to December 1, 2023, IIIT-B flaunted its 25-year journey to the world.
IIIT-B Innovation Center had its start-ups attracting visitors, that included MOPTro Wasp by Green Zine Technologies, a Warehouse Autonomous Sorter and Picker robot designed to enhance productivity in dark stores, E-commerce and omni channel warehouses.
Among the standout projects on display at BTS was the integration of Smart Irrigation with its Digital Twin. This project combines edge computing, the elastic stack for cloud services, and mobile applications to create a highly efficient irrigation system. The Digital Twin component adds real-time monitoring, analysis and control capabilities, providing a dynamic insight into the workings of physical systems.
Mayank Kabra, Asmita Zjigyasu, Saketh Gajawada, and Yathin Kumar, our iMTech students, have ventured into the startup scene, and it created lot of interest among the visitors at BTS 2023. Their brainchild, Chipcron is a game-changer in customizable chip design. These whiz-kids specialize in crafting reconfigurable and customizable RISC-V system-on-chips, finely tuned to meet specific power, performance and area requirements.
Specializing in virtual and augmented reality solutions, Hyperreality Technologies showcased its product TRAINXR, a VR Training platform designed to enhance technician and operator training in the manufacturing domain. Hapchi is an interesting start-up that is dedicated to fostering child safety through innovative solutions, Hapchi’s platform integrates online resources with offline intervention, empowering children, parents, educators, and schools.
The Machine Intelligence and Robotics Center of Excellence at IIIT-B, known as MINRO, left visitors in awe as this dedicated hub is all about top-notch research in crucial domains like health, urban mobility, smart cities, education technology, and e-governance. And that’s not all—IIITB COMET Foundation gave visitors a sneak peek into their strides in wireless communication systems. It was innovation on full display!
CIET had another intriguing project up its sleeve—Smart Irrigation and its Digital Twin and it stirred up a lot of interest. Visitors were hooked by the impressive display—a wall adorned with IIIT-B’s milestones, showcasing technological strides fuelled by the institute’s commitment to making a big impact in the IT world through education, research, entrepreneurship and innovation.
IIIT-Bangalore Launched K-VLSI Program During BTS 2023
On the side lines of BTS 2023, the K-tech center of excellence on Machine Intelligence & Robotics at IIIT-B launched K-VLSI Skilling Program. Shri Priyank Kharge, Honorable IT & BT Minister, Karnataka Government launched K-VLSI programme in the presence of Dr.Ekroop Caur, IAS, IT, BT & ST Secretary to Karnataka Government, Shri. Darshan H.V IAS, Managing Director, Smt. Champa E, General Manager, from the Department of Electronics Information Technology Biotechnology and Science & Technology, Government of Karnataka, Prof. Debabrata Das, Director, IIIT-Bangalore along with the team of faculty members were present at the occasion.
K-VLSI is an Advanced Certificate Program in VLSI design for 6 months with focus on theoretical and practical knowledge with extensive exposure to industry relevant projects and 3 months’ internship with the Industry.
BTS event has been organized by the Department of Electronics, IT, BT and S&T, Government of Karnataka, and co-hosted by Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) and driven by members of Karnataka’s Vision Groups on IT, Biotechnology, and Start-Ups. BTS is the only event in India that has brought together leading cross-sectoral industry organizations like NASSCOM, IESA, ABAI, ABLE, TiE, and USIBC on a common platform.
