IIIT Bangalore hosted Sony Sensing Solution University Program (SSUP) Team members Mitsuru Tanabe (Semiconductor Solutions, Japan), Hitomi Kamata (Semiconductor Solutions, Japan), Cheng Zhang (Semiconductor Solutions, Japan), and Anil Sasidharan India Software Center Pvt. Ltd.) on March 14. The Sony SSUP Team discussed various ongoing SSUP initiatives across the world and in India. From IIITB, our Director Prof. Debabrata Das, Dean-Academics Prof. Chandrashekar Ramanathan, Prof. Kurain Polachan, Prof. Madhav Rao, and Dr. Vikas Vazhayil from NIMHANS deliberated on the on-going SSUP sponsored project at IIITB, and several other possible initiatives in the domain of Embedded Systems and IoT with Sony SSUP team.
IIITB hosted the team at various labs and demonstrated some of the ongoing work which includes the COMET Lab of Prof. Prem Singh and team, Radar Lab of Prof. Vinod Reddy, Speech lab of Prof. Ramasubramaniam. The ongoing Sony SSUP sponsored project titled “Design of a 6-DoF, AI-Robotic System for Upper-Limb Stroke Rehabilitation” has contributed towards the Make-In-India vision of the country. The students – Prashanth Jonna, Aamod B K, and Anshul Madurwar with Prof. Madhav Rao has been working on this project since August 2022.
