IIIT-Bangalore’s Snigdha Yadavalli Among Top 60 in NXP’s Women in Tech 2023

Sasi Snigdha Yadavalli, a remarkable 2nd-year iMTech student at IIIT-Bangalore, achieved a prestigious milestone by securing her place among the Top 60 participants in the coveted Batch II of Women in Tech (WIT) 2023. Out of over 8500 aspiring students nationwide, her selection emphasises her exceptional talent and dedication. The rigorous selection process, comprising a preliminary aptitude test, technical assessments, personal statements, essay writing and interviews, culminated in her well-deserved recognition.

NXP’s Women in Tech Program stands as a beacon of diversity and innovation, aimed at empowering women engineering students across India. This one-of-a-kind initiative spans a year, providing comprehensive training and mentoring to foster a thriving career in the semiconductor and hi-tech industry. For Snigdha and her peers, this opportunity entails specialized semiconductor design training, enriched by practical sessions led by industry professionals. Moreover, they have the privilege of networking with seasoned mentors and gaining insights from industry experts, laying a solid foundation for their future endeavors.

Snigdha attributes her success to the nurturing environment at IIIT-Bangalore. She acknowledges the transformative impact of her professors in the Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) department, who not only cultivated her passion but also instilled a relentless drive for exploration and learning. The supportive community of seniors and peers played a crucial role in encouraging collaboration and growth. The institute’s rigorous curriculum, with cross-disciplinary courses in ECE and CSE, further enriched her educational journey, reflecting its commitment to holistic learning.

Her journey towards excellence began with being awarded the prestigious Women Engineers Scholarship from TalentSprint, supported by Google, during her first year of iMTech. This two-year scholarship and mentorship program, led by industry experts, focuses on honing technical expertise and developing soft skills, laying a strong foundation for her future endeavors.

As Snigdha embarks on her journey with NXP’s WIT program, she eagerly anticipates a wealth of learning opportunities. Her advice to aspiring individuals is simple yet profound: “Stay curious.
