The IIIT-B Premier League, organized by the Sports Committee, saw enthusiastic participation from students, making it a lively and enjoyable event.


IIIT Bangalore at ARENA 2026

ARENA 2026, the annual national-level sports festival hosted at BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus, saw participation from multiple institutions across the country. IIIT Bangalore was represented by 78 athletes competing in ten sports, including table tennis, chess, kabaddi, volleyball, basketball, tennis, football, cricket, badminton, and powerlifting.

 

IIIT Bangalore’s primary result came in table tennis, where the team secured first place. The squad – Nilay Kamat, Jayesh Pandit, Shreyas Arun, Siddharth Vikram, and Sathvik Rao, progressed through the knockout rounds to win the final.

In chess, IIIT Bangalore recorded a 1–2 finish. Sarvesh placed first, and Rakshith placed second in the event, which followed a rapid time-control format.

In team sports, IIIT Bangalore reached the semi-finals in kabaddi, volleyball, basketball, and tennis. These events involved either knockout formats or group-stage qualification followed by elimination rounds.

Other sports, including football and cricket, followed standard intercollegiate tournament structures with group stages and knockouts. Individual and team events such as badminton and powerlifting were conducted according to established competitive formats.

IIIT Bangalore took part in both individual and team events across different formats during the tournament. Competing against a wide range of institutions, the results reflect their performance in a competitive environment.
