Tarang, our talented band featuring students from both i-MTech and B.Tech, clinched 3rd place in the Battle of Bands competition.

S.Tharun Kumar’s dream run at CoinQuest- a Simulated Crypto Trading Challenge
A round of applause for S. Tharun Kumar (i-MTech) from E-Cell IIIT-B, who has secured second place at the prestigious CoinQuest competition organized by BITS Pilani, Hyderabad. This 72-hour intense simulated trading challenge immersed participants in the world of real-time cryptocurrency trading, and Tharun showcased exceptional grit, determination, and patience throughout the competition.
Cryptocurrency, the latest buzzword in the fintech world, holds immense potential to transform the global financial landscape. In the CoinQuest competition, participants were given the opportunity to delve deep into the world of cryptocurrencies, using virtual funds to mimic real market conditions. Tharun’s remarkable performance highlights his ability to navigate this fast-evolving and complex domain, bringing pride to IIIT-B.

Team Byte_Me_BirulManMang Triumphs at AI and Data Science Codeathon 2024
Team Byte_Me_BirulManMang, comprising i-MTech students Hemang Seth, Shreyas Biradar, Aryaman Pathak, and Rutul Satishkumar Patel, clinched the winner’s title at the AI and Data Science Codeathon 2024. This prestigious event was organized by RBiH in collaboration with the IIIT-B Innovation Centre.
The team’s innovative solution, Nano Credit AI, integrates artificial intelligence and blockchain technology to assess the creditworthiness of nano entrepreneurs—those lacking traditional financial data. By utilizing AI modules such as OCR, NLP, and predictive modeling, the solution analyzes alternative data sources including community feedback, business activity, utility payments, and assets to generate dynamic credit scores.
Furthermore, a unique ID system powered by blockchain ensures secure, tamper-proof data sharing, allowing entrepreneurs to control and share their information with multiple institutions. The platform prioritizes inclusivity, data privacy, and fairness, providing underserved entrepreneurs with access to formal credit and contributing to global financial equality. This scalable solution has the potential to revolutionize credit access for nano entrepreneurs, empowering them to thrive in today’s digital economy.
IIIT-B wins big at Bengaluru Tech Summit 2024
At the prestigious Bengaluru Tech Summit (BTS) 2024, IIIT-B made a remarkable impact, securing top honors in multiple categories. The institute was awarded the Best Exhibitor Award in the Content and Information category and the Ecosystem Enablers Award was presented to the Machine Intelligence and Robotics (MINRO) Centre for its outstanding contributions to the tech ecosystem.
The awards were presented to a distinguished team from IIIT-B, including Prof. Debabrata Das, Director, Prof. Chandrashekar Ramanathan, Dean (Academics), and other esteemed members of the IIIT-B community. These accolades not only bring honor to the institute but also reinforce its position as a leader in innovation and research excellence.
IIIT-Bangalore Secures Patent
A moment of pride for IIIT-B as, the Patent Office Government of India granted Indian patent for the invention “A system for customizing Integrated Circuit Designs”.
The patent has been granted to the International Institute of Information Technology Bangalore and Mayank Kabra, an alumnus. The inventors of this innovation include Mayank Kabra, Asmita Zjigyasu (i-MTech), Saketh Gajawada (i-MTech), Yathin Kumar (i-MTech), and Prof. Madhav Rao, Head of the Department of ECE at IIIT-Bangalore. Additionally, Siddharth Kothari, Sankalp Kothari, and BTV Sumanth, all i-MTech students, have also contributed to the development of this invention.

Our alumnus, Nitin Tailor, was recently honored with the prestigious Rex Karmaveer Chakra Award by iCONGO in partnership with the United Nations, during a ceremony in Noida, Delhi. This esteemed award celebrates the remarkable contributions of changemakers across India. The Karmaveer Puraskaar, a National People’s Award for Citizen Social Justice and Action, is presented by iCONGO (Indian Confederation of NGOs) as part of the Right Every Wrong Movement. It recognizes the efforts of individuals driving positive social change, supported by a diverse partnership of industry, media, government, and other sectors.
