Balaji Parthasarathy delivered the opening keynote address titled “Inclusion and Exclusion in the Multiple Trajectories toward Digital India: The Means and the Modes”, at the “Digital Demos: Data, Democracy and Regulations at the EU and India” conference organised by the Jean Monnet Module on Digital Democracy and Data Governance in the European Union, Human Sciences Research Centre, IIIT Hyderabad, in collaboration with the Department of Political Science, University of Hyderabad.
Asilata Karandikar and Prof. V Sridhar also presented a paper at the conference titled “An Emergent Social Contract for a Digital World: A Comparative Analysis of Data Privacy Legislations in India and the European Union”.

Prof. Debabrata Das, Director, IIIT-Bangalore, was invited to address dignitaries at the IEEE Future Network Conference on “Connecting the Unconnected (CTU)” at Johns Hopkins University, Washington, D.C. on September 26, 2025. He shared India’s successful efforts in building a network for CTU.

Prof. Debabrata Das, Director IIIT-B and Cmde SR Sridhar (Retd), Registrar, IIIT-B visited WINLAB (Wireless Information Network Laboratory) at Rutgers School of Engineering, New Jersey on September 25, 2025. WINLAB is one of the world’s best wireless test-beds. Discussions were held on potential collaborations between Rutgers and IIIT-Bangalore, particularly with a focus on leveraging WINLAB’s advanced test-beds for research in next-generation communications. A meaningful step toward building stronger academic and research ties between WINLAB and IIIT-Bangalore.
