Prof. Amit Prakash was invited as an Expert Resource Person to anchor a 2-3 day training programme organized by UN-APCICT (United Nations Asia Pacific Centre for ICT and Development) for senior government officials and policymakers in Viet Nam, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan in May, June and September 2024 respectively. The sessions focused on Digital Government and Transformation and the content was largely drawn from a report that was drafted by Amit Prakash and Rajesh Hanbal as part of a collaborative project of IIIT-B’s Centre for IT and Public Policy (CITAPP) and UN-APCICT, headquartered in Incheon, Korea.
Prof. Dinesh Babu Jayagopi, HoD, DSAI, IIIT-Bangalore was an invited speaker at the Global Artificial INtelligence (GAIN) Summit held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from September 10 to 12, 2024.
He participated in a roundtable titled “Navigating the Challenges of AI Data: Real-World Dynamics, Synthetic Solutions, and Global Collaboration” on September 12, 2024.
Prof. Dinesh Babu Jayagopi, HoD, DSAI, IIIT-Bangalore gave a talk on “AI and GenAI: Future Technology for Governance – Applications and Perspectives” at Assam Administrative Staff College, Guwahati on September 18, 2024.
He delivered a talk at the invitation of the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration in Mussoorie.
Rahisha Thottolil, Ph.D. scholar, recently had the opportunity to present a talk titled “From Membership to Leadership: Advancing Your Career with IEEE GRSS” at the IADF Summer School on Computer Vision for Earth Observation (CV4EO), held at the University of Sannio in Benevento, Italy. She received a fully funded travel grant from IEEE GRSS for this event. This experience allowed her to share insights on how young professionals can grow within IEEE, moving from membership to leadership roles, while also making valuable connections in the field of Earth observation.
She also had the opportunity to present her research titled “Shaping Tomorrow’s Cities: ML-Driven Insights for Small and Medium-Sized Settlements and Transportation in India,” co-authored by Prof. Uttam Kumar, IIIT-Bangalore and Prof. Tanujit Chakraborty, Associate Professor at Sorbonne University.
Prof. Srinath Srinivasa visited GSFC University, Vadodara, Gujarat, India, as part of their “Expert in Residence” program from September 23-27, 2024. This involved conducting a series of research and academic talks, including hands-on sessions, which were carried out by former WSL member Ms. Niharikasri Parasa.
