Our NSS unit, Aikyam Club, recently visited the Nele Nanjamma Thimmaraya Reddy Orphanage. They donated groceries and spent quality time with the kids.
The Aikyam Club members and staff engaged with the children, creating joyful moments and lasting memories. The smiles on the children’s faces made the visit truly satisfying for both the students and the staff.

Prof. Sujit Kumar Chakrabarti gave an online invited talk titled “AI, Education and Engineering for Inclusion – Indian Context” at ‘National Seminar on Inclusive AI Development: Building Ethical, Accessible, & Equitable Futures’ held at ‘Lady Shri Ram College for Women, University of Delhi’.

Prof. Srinath Srinivasa, Dean (R&D), represented the Web Science Lab, IIIT-Bangalore, at the India AI Impact Summit. He was one of the panelists in a session showcasing Data Commons (DataCommons.org). It was an insightful discussion on transitioning from static data silos to a dynamic and secure data ecosystem. Data Commons is an initiative of Google.org that aims to make open data AI-ready, enabling it to be easily assimilated by the public for diverse benefits.
Additionally, Prof. Srinath delivered a talk at the EkStep Pavilion titled “Empowering the Commons: AI for Public Good through Data-Driven Governance,” where he spoke about some of the ongoing work at the Web Science Lab. He was also part of the announcement of an upcoming collaboration with the People+ai initiative of the EkStep Foundation, unveiled during the launch of the “100 Pathways by 2030” initiative by Nandan Nilekani.
Strengthening the commons through AI and open data, IIIT-B continues to contribute to building inclusive, data-driven public ecosystems.

Prof. V. Sridhar delivered an invited talk on “Digital Public Goods and Digital Public Infrastructure” at the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) programme at the National Communications Academy–Finance (NCA-F), New Delhi.
Prof. V. Sridhar served as the external examiner for the PhD thesis “Efficient Mechanism Design for Cellular and Wi-Fi Coexistence in the 6 GHz Band” by Rasika Nilaweera Kalahe Wattege, University of Auckland, New Zealand (2026).

Prof. Sujit Kumar Chakrabarti participated in a cross-industry executive roundtable organised by NASSCOM CoE. The roundtable brought together senior leaders from MedTech, Automotive, Aerospace, and regulated IT domains to shape an industry benchmark for software application and embedded testing practices.
