The 100th meeting of the Governing Body was held in the presence of the Chairman of the Governing Body, Mr. S Gopalakrishnan, the Director of IIIT-Bangalore, Prof. Debabrata Das, and other Governing Body members.

Mr. B. V. Naidu, a Governing Body member who has been part of all 100 Governing Body meetings, was felicitated on this occasion. Along with him, the Chairman, Mr. Kris Gopalakrishnan, was also honoured during the meeting.

This month, we bid farewell to Ms. Cynthia, our longtime Staff Officer to the Dean, as she retires from her role at IIIT-Bangalore after more than 10 years of dedicated service.

We thank her for her commitment and contributions to the institute and wish her all the very best in her future endeavours.


December 12-13, 2025

The Grand Finale of Avinya, a nationwide initiative by Veranda K-12 to foster innovation among students from Grades 8 to 12, concluded on a high note at IIIT-Bangalore. The event celebrated the ingenuity and determination of India’s young minds, who presented innovative ideas aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The Grand Finale marked the end of an inspiring journey that began with over 385 entries from 15 cities and towns across India. Following a rigorous evaluation process, the finalists underwent specialized training sessions and mentorship, helping them refine their ideas.

The top three winners of Avinya 2025 were:

Winner: Chitrashree C & Divyanshi Soo from Deeksha Stem School, Bangalore.

First Runner-Up: H Praveena Sri Dhurka from BVM Global group of Schools, Perungudi – Chennai.

Second Runner-Up: S.Meena & R,Dharshine from Perunthalaivar Kamarajar Govt.Girls Hr. Sec School, Ambattur – Chennai.

These participants showcased exceptional creativity and problem-solving skills in tackling real-world challenges.

The 30th International Conference on Advanced Computing and Communications (ADCOM 2025) was held at IIIT-Bangalore. This year’s conference focused on the theme “Technologies for a Sustainable Future.”


December 18-20, 2025

The 22nd edition of IEEE INDICON was held at IIIT-Bangalore. The theme of this year’s conference was “Regenerative Artificial Intelligence: Advancing AI for Industrial, Societal, and Environmental Impact.”

INDICON is the flagship annual international conference of the IEEE India Council and is regarded as one of its most prestigious initiatives in the fields of Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Electronics & Communication Engineering.

A MoU was signed between the Indian Naval Academy and IIIT-Bangalore on December 26, 2025. The partnership aims to strengthen academic and research collaboration. Some of the key aspects include:-

* Joint research in areas of mutual interest

* Exchange of students, faculty, and scholarly resources

* Co-hosting seminars, workshops, and academic events

* Virtual guest lectures and expert talks

* Engagement of adjunct/distinguished faculty in emerging technologies

* Collaborative teaching of specialized curriculum modules

* Co-guidance of research theses

Together, this MoU fosters innovation, knowledge exchange, and technological advancement. MoU was signed by Commodore SR Sridhar (Retd), Registrar IIIT-B and Commodore Nirmal Raghu, Registrar INA, in the presence of Prof. Debabrata Das, Director IIIT-B and Rear Admiral G Rambabu, Principal Indian Naval Academy (INA).
