Teachers hers play one of the most important roles in shaping who we are. From the very first day we look up to them as guides, mentors, and sometimes even our biggest partisan. They don’t just teach lessons from textbooks, they teach us how to live, how to think, how to believe in ourselves and to perform at the best of our potential.
Oxford defines a teacher as – “a person whose job is teaching, especially in a classroom”, but in reality, this term is more than just a profession and has well evolved outside the typical classroom. Our parents are our first teachers, guiding us with love and values long before we enter a classroom. Their lessons in patience, kindness, and resilience shape the foundation of who we become. Soon as we step into the world outside, our teachers make us feel at home, away from home. From the very beginning, teachers guide us with a steady hand, introducing us to the world of knowledge and helping us build the foundation for our future. They nurture our curiosity, teach us to question, and encourage us to keep pushing forward, even when the journey gets tough.
Honouring our teachers, the students of IIIT-B celebrated this Teachers’ Day with a memorable event, where professors were invited to enjoy soulful performances of music and poetry put together by the students. Following this, Vinci – The Art Club at IIIT-B, presented handmade greeting cards to the professors on behalf of all the students, as a gesture of gratitude for their eNorts in shaping our careers. Also, on that day, Aikyam – the social service club of IIIT-B, conducted a blood donation drive, marking the day with a selfless act of service.
Teachers’ Day is not just about one date on the calendar, it’s about remembering that behind every success story, there is a teacher who cared enough to guide the way. Whether it’s through lessons, advice, or just a few encouraging words, their impact stays with us for a lifetime.
