Umang, the Annual Inter Collegiate Sports Tournament, was back again this year, and it returned in the biggest and most exciting way yet. Umang 25 brought a fresh wave of energy and celebration to the IIIT-Bangalore campus. Over the three days of 31st October, 1st November and 2nd November, the atmosphere was electric as nearly 1200 sportspersons from 48 colleges gathered to compete, cheer and celebrate together. The event was made possible through the combined efforts of our sports officer Dr. Neha Arora, the Sports Committee and the enthusiastic student volunteers who worked tirelessly to ensure everything went on smoothly. The campus looked vibrant and welcoming, decorated beautifully to match the festive spirit of the occasion.

The opening ceremony was grand and full of life, setting the perfect tone for the days that followed. Matches and games across Football, Tennis, Badminton, Kabaddi, Throwball, Volleyball, Table Tennis and Chess were gripping to watch, filled with spirited performances, close finishes and moments that brought the audience to their feet. There was a shared sense of excitement and unity that spread across the grounds, while food stalls from popular off campus vendors added comfort, flavour and a festive buzz to the entire event.

IIIT-B proudly secured Gold medals in Football, Mixed Doubles Table Tennis and Chess. Silver medals were earned in Women’s Doubles Badminton, Women’s Singles and the Men’s Table Tennis Team. Umang’25 ended on a joyful and fulfilling note, reminding us that while trophies shine, it is the spirit of participation that shines brightest.
