IIIT-Bangalore hosted the 29th Annual International Conference on Advanced Computing and Communications (ADCOM 2024). Organized by the Advanced Computing and Communications Society (ACCS), ADCOM 2024 delved into the theme of “Responsible AI,” addressing critical issues around the ethical deployment of artificial intelligence and its role in shaping the future of technology and society.
The event featured 21 research paper presentations, 10 short papers by Ph.D. students, and 12 insightful keynotes by industry experts. A highlight of the conference was a fireside chat with Prof. Virginia Dignum (Umeå University, Sweden) and the “Ignite AI StartUp Pitch Fest,” where 15 teams pitched their ideas to a panel of investors.
Preceding the conference, a workshop on “Ethical Software Engineering Practices” and a full-day tutorial on “Deep Learning with Keras 3” drew enthusiastic participation, offering hands-on learning opportunities. ADCOM 2024 proved to be a pivotal event in the field of advanced computing, fostering rich discussions and collaborations. IIIT-Bangalore’s successful hosting of this prestigious conference underscored its leadership in advancing ethical and responsible AI practices, contributing to a future where technology benefits all.
