Kannada Rajyotsava, celebrated statewide every November, is a tribute to Karnataka’s unification, its language, and its vibrant cultural legacy. Though officially observed on November 1st, IIIT-Bangalore echoed this spirit on the 12th of November, bringing the colours, rhythms, and traditions of Karnataka to life through a lively on-campus celebration.

The celebration began with a powerful and captivating performance of Dollu Kunitha and Kamsale, followed by acts that highlighted the richness of local arts. The institute’s music club, Symphony, added to the festive atmosphere with a melodious performance that resonated beautifully with the occasion. The campus, adorned in shades of red and yellow, reflected the unity and pride associated with the celebrations.

Adding a culinary touch to the event, the cafeteria curated a special Karnataka-themed menu that was well received by students, faculty, and staff. A colourful rangoli-making competition further brought creativity and cultural expression to the forefront, engaging participants in a joyful display of artistry.

The celebrations concluded with an engaging quiz conducted by QuizSoc, the campus quiz club, testing participants’ knowledge of Karnataka’s history, culture, and heritage.

The event truly captured the essence of Kannada Rajyotsava-joy, pride, and togetherness, making it a memorable day for the entire IIIT-B community as they came together to honour the rich legacy of Karnataka.
