BDA 2025 at IIIT-Bangalore

  IIIT-Bangalore hosted the Big Data and AI (BDA 2025) Conference, which brought together researchers, practitioners, and industry experts for four days of knowledge sharing and collaboration. The conference opened with three focused workshops that set the stage for the discussions to follow, and continued with three days of thought-provoking sessions covering the latest in data science and artificial intelligence.

The event featured an impressive lineup of keynote and invited speakers, including Prof. Biplav Srivastava, Dr. Kalika Bali, Mr. K. Anvar Sadath, Dr. Manas Gaur, Dr. Prasad Deshpande, and Prof. Yogesh Simmhan. Their talks blended perspectives from academia, industry, and policy, sparking meaningful conversations on both foundational advances and real-world applications of AI.

A strong student presence added to the vibrancy of the event, with participants from various institutions presenting 15 regular papers and 8 short papers, showcasing innovative approaches to current challenges. In addition, two tutorial sessions provided deeper insights into emerging topics, while a dedicated industry track highlighted the practical implications, opportunities, and challenges of AI in today’s rapidly changing landscape.

The conference concluded on an inspiring note with a special session on AI in Education, which generated enthusiastic participation and wide appreciation for its relevance and impact.

With its blend of research, practice, and policy discussions, BDA 2025 was not just a conference but a memorable gathering that strengthened the bonds within the research community while charting directions for the future of Big Data and AI.
