As part of the prestigious Quadripartite MoU between Île-de-France, France, and the International Institute of Information Technology Bangalore (IIIT-Bangalore), a learning trip was organized to Aivancity. Thirteen students from the B.Tech. first-year AI & DS department at IIIT-Bangalore visited the Aivancity School for Technology, Business & Society Paris-Cachan and participated in a short course on “AI and Ethics.”
The course included lectures on ethics, ethics by design, technology regulation, business strategy, responsible AI, and explainable AI. The format involved discussions, debates, role-play, hands-on sessions, and short projects. A visit to UNESCO and the headquarters of the Paris Region was also arranged.
Overall, this was a great exposure to the first-year BTech AI & DS students, to expand their knowledge to think about being responsible citizens and ethical and legal usage of data and AI for business and societal benefits.
Prof. Dinesh Babu Jayagopi, HoD, DSAI department, accompanied the students and jointly developed several future modes of collaboration with Aivancity School.
