April strolled in with a wink—after all, it begins with a day made for pranks, giggles, and harmless mischief ! But beyond Fool’s Day fun, this month reminds us to embrace lightness even in the thick of deadlines and discoveries. In this edition, we promise no tricks—just real stories, reflections, and a sprinkle of campus cheer. From marathons to meaningful dialogues, the month was all about movement, connections, and community spirit.
We kicked off with our much-loved annual marathon, “Miles4Meals”, where over 300 spirited runners took to the tracks at dawn, racing not just for fitness but for a cause; to end classroom hunger. The energy was infectious as runners battled it out in the heart of Electronic city.
April also saw IIIT-B deepening its commitment to technology for good through events like “Re-Imagining Pathways for Assistive Technology”, “A4I”, and “Spatial Talk and Network #20″, showcasing our institute’s ongoing efforts in shaping inclusive, forward-thinking innovation. Additionally, our recent MoU with National Research Development Corporation, underscored IIIT-B’s robust collaboration network.
A proud highlight was the inauguration of the LG Soft Lab, as we welcomed the LG Soft team to our campus, nurturing industry-academia collaboration. In keeping with our tradition of sustainability World Earth Day was celebrated with a tree plantation drive, reaffirming our legacy as a green campus.
In a moment of academic triumph, we were delighted to receive an Indian Patent grant for the invention titled “System and Method for Identification of IoT Nodes Based on GPIO Pull-up/Down Resistors”. A testament to the research excellence that defines IIIT-B.
In this edition, our Kannada section ನವಚಿಂತನ (Navachintana), shines a gentle light on a pressing truth: in times clouded by tension, what the world needs most is a resurgence of humanity. It calls on us to let compassion lead, and to allow the light of empathy to shine brighter than ever.
Above all, community remained at our heart. Our student-led social club, Aikyam NSS-IIITB, in partnership with Bangalore Medical Services Trust (BMST), organized a Blood Donation Camp, a simple yet powerful act of service.
Beginning this month, Naviiina is delighted to introduce an exciting new segment dedicated to celebrating the vibrant voices of our digital community. In every issue, we will spotlight the most engaging and impactful social media posts of the month, those that sparked conversations. We invite you to follow, engage, and share, because your support doesn’t just amplify our reach, it shapes the future of our social media journey.
As we move forward, we carry this vibrant energy with us, committed to innovation, inclusion, and collective growth.
