IIIT-B i-M.Tech. Students Win Best Design Contest Award at Prestigious VLSI Conference
We are delighted to share that our i-M.Tech. students—Sowmya Yenigalla, Varsha Yamsani, Akshaya Bysani, and Sukeerthi PVS—have won the Best Design Contest Award in the NXP board category at the 38th International Conference on VLSI Design & 24th International Conference on Embedded Systems, held recently in Bangalore.
The team impressed the jury with their innovative project, “MoodSync: Emotion-Based Music/Visual Effects Recommendation through Wearables.” Their work was evaluated by a distinguished panel of external experts, including leading academicians and industry stalwarts.
This remarkable achievement highlights the talent, creativity, and research excellence of IIIT-B students in the field of VLSI and embedded systems. Congratulations to the team for their outstanding accomplishment!
IIIT-B Team Secures Top Spot at Flipkart Grid Robotics 6.0
With innovation at its core, the i-MTech students’ team—Aryaman Pathak, Bhavya Kapadia, Hemant Gupta, Shreyas Biradar, and Siddeshwar Kagatikar—secured the Second Runner-Up position at the Flipkart Grid Robotics 6.0 finals, held at IIT Madras. Competing against 3,400+ teams, they developed a groundbreaking automation-driven solution incorporating brand detection for product identification, MRP and expiry detection using OCR and ML models, and freshness detection for quality assurance. Their work aims to revolutionize retail operations by minimizing manual intervention and enhancing efficiency. This remarkable achievement reflects IIIT-B’s commitment to fostering technological innovation and problem-solving excellence. Kudos to the team.
IIIT-Bangalore Secures Indian Patent for CNN Hardware Innovation
IIIT-Bangalore is proud to announce the grant of an Indian Patent for the invention “Hardware System Prototype and Method for Convolution Operation in Convolutional Neural Network (CNN).” Developed by Veerendra S Devaraddi (i-MTech. alumnus) and Dr. Nanditha Rao (former Faculty – VLSI), this innovation enhances the efficiency of convolution operations in deep learning applications.
