Balaji Parthasarathy hosted the IEEE TechEthics Workshop at the 4th IEEE Conference on Digital Platforms and Societal Harms (https://lnkd.in/gJF8itPM) held in Washington DC, 14-15 October. At the workshop, he presented the game Gig Lane (https://lnkd.in/gYJeq9sz), in which players have to weigh the trade-offs that key stakeholders (gig workers, platforms, customers, and regulators) in the digital platform economy make. The game design draws on the research of the Fairwork India project (https://lnkd.in/dU3vY2ea) which has been based at IIIT-B’s Center for Information Technology and Public Policy (CITAPP) since 2018.
Following the conference, Balaji attended the Annual Meeting of the nine Global Ambassadors of IEEE TechEthics (https://lnkd.in/eK4KsFn) on 16 October, at the Washington DC office of IEEE.
Prof. Dinesh Babu Jayagopi HoD, DSAI delivered two talks on “AI and GenAI: Future Technology for Governance – Applications and Perspectives” at the Dr. Marri Chenna Reddy Human Resource Development Institute of Telangana in Hyderabad on October 24, 2024.
The first talk was to Rajya Sabha Secretaries, and the second was for Mid-Career Armed Forces and Civil Services Officers on Citizen-Centric Governance. These sessions were organized upon the request of the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie.
