IIIT-Bangalore received the International Green University Award 2024
IIIT-Bangalore has been selected for the highly esteemed International Green University Award 2024. This accolade recognizes IIIT-B’s holistic approach to sustainable practices, aligning with UNESCO’s Greening Education Partnership.
The International Green Mentors University Award 2024 honors educational institutions that demonstrate outstanding efforts in promoting environmental sustainability and instilling eco-conscious values in students. IIIT-B’s initiatives, which have significantly contributed to reducing the institution’s carbon footprint, noble sustainable efforts, and raising environmental awareness, were instrumental in securing this award.
The award was officially presented on September 24, 2024, at the 8th NYC Green School Conference, held on the sidelines of the 79th United Nations General Assembly and the Summit of the Future in New York. Mr. Jagdish Patil, Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of IIIT-B, received the award on behalf of the institute. Mr. Dilip Chauhan Deputy Commissioner, NYC Mayor’s Office for International Affairs, New York, USA, presented the award.

Prof. Madhav Rao Honoured with the Prestigious Prof. Satish Dhawan Young Engineers State Award in the field of Engineering Sciences for the year 2023
Prof. Madhav Rao, Associate Professor and HoD (ECE), has been conferred the Prof. Satish Dhawan Young Engineers State Award in the field of Engineering Sciences for the year 2023. The award is instituted by the Government of Karnataka.
Karnataka Chief Minister Shri Siddaramaiah presented Prof. Madhav Rao with this award at a ceremony held on September 26, 2024, at the J.N. Tata Auditorium, Indian Institute of Science Campus, Bengaluru.
Distinguished guests, including Prof. C.N.R. Rao, Bharat Ratna, Shri N. S. Boseraju, Hon’ble Minister for Minor Irrigation, Science and Technology, Government of Karnataka, and Dr. Ekroop Caur (IAS), Secretary, Department of Electronics, Information Technology, Biotechnology, and Science & Technology (E, IT, BT and S&T), Government of Karnataka, graced the occasion.

Taru Gupta, i-MTech student and his team won 2nd prize from won second prize from the Oasis team.
Our iMTech student, Tarun Gupta, along with Abhinav Aggarwalla, Bhavesh Gupta, and Aarav Mehta from IIT BHU, participated in ETHSingapore, hosted by ETHGlobal from September 20-22.
Competing with over 1,000 participants from 59 countries, their project a private lending platform on the Oasis Sapphire blockchain won second prize from the Oasis team.
