We are happy to share that our students, Ajay Javali (B.Tech.), Arjun Sai (B.Tech.), Anurag Rao U (Integrated M.Tech.), and Akshay K M (Integrated M.Tech.) secured the First Runner-Up position at the Odoo Hackathon 2026, held recently in Coimbatore.
The journey began with a highly competitive virtual qualifying round featuring around 600 teams from across the country. Advancing to the finals among the top 100 teams, they competed in an intense 24-hour coding sprint to build a fully functional solution.
At the finale, the team developed “Subly,” a subscription management platform designed to help businesses streamline recurring services, track billing cycles, monitor customer subscriptions, and enhance revenue visibility through a structured and user-friendly interface.
We are proud to share that Prof. Narayanan P P, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, IIIT-Bangalore, has been selected for the Best Ph.D. Thesis Award under the IEEE Kerala Section Awards 2025 for his outstanding doctoral research titled “Development of Inductive and Capacitive Sensor Systems for Liquid Level and Inclination Estimation.”
His research focuses on the development of inductive and capacitive sensor systems for liquid level and dual-axis inclination estimation. A key highlight of this work is an innovative capacitive fuel sensor capable of simultaneously measuring fuel level, tilt, and fuel composition. The research has led to multiple high-quality publications and patents.
Speaking about the recognition, Prof. Narayanan shared that he felt “extremely happy and proud,” describing the award as a meaningful validation of several years of focused research and experimentation. He added that the acknowledgment has further motivated him to continue developing practical, high-impact sensing solutions.
This achievement underscores the importance of deep, application-oriented research and its real-world relevance to engineering systems. Truly inspiring to see such impactful work being recognised and celebrated within the research community.
