October was a month filled with activities at IIIT-Bangalore. It began with the celebration of Vijayadashami, followed by Deepavali, the festival of lights, celebrated with great enthusiasm around the campus. The month also witnessed two major international conferences ATVA and APLAS 2025, hosting their 23rd series at IIIT-B.

A significant milestone was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Brazil. In addition, Prof. Debabrata Das, Director of IIIT-Bangalore, showcased IIITB COMET Foundation’s innovative R&D products in advanced communication technologies to Shri Jitendra Singh, Minister of Science & Technology, at the India Mobile Congress 2025.

Another highlight was Prof. T.K. Srikanth, Principal Investigator of Tele MANAS and Professor of Practice at the E-Health Research Centre (EHRC), participating in the World Mental Health Day 2025 celebrations in New Delhi, where Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda, launched new initiatives for Tele MANAS.

Umang, our annual sports fest, witnessed record-breaking participation this year, and the three-day event concluded successfully. Our students also took part in various competitions and brought home several prizes.
